Recycling PBL Unit

  • Students with Disabilities – Students with disabilities will be provided all accommodations based on their IEP. Any particular remediation needs will be provided as needed. Students will be given extended time, larger font, or instructions read aloud if needed.

  • Second-language Learners – Students will be provided with support from the migrant education program. A professional related to this program will come to the classroom to provide for these particular students.

  • Different Learning Styles – Students are not restricted to the manner in which they acquire the information for their presentation. Students can acquire information by reading articles and links on various web pages, or by watching and listening to video. The students will also have the opportunity to see and hear a local representative speak about recycling in their community.

  • Different Intelligences – Students will be grouped together based on various ability levels so students of higher levels can provide support for struggling students. Struggling students will also be provided extra support from teacher and continuous feedback to aid their ability to be successful.

  • Students without Access to Technology in the Home – Students will be given adequate time in class to satisfy all requirements of the PBL project. Students will work on projects at home on their own accord.

  • Gifted Students – Gifted students are encouraged to engage in the extension activities at the end of each lesson.

  • Cultural Differences – I do not believe cultural differences will be an issue throughout this unit.
